When the C-17A came into operational service it represented a leap in the RAAF’s airlift capability. It is operated by 36 Squadron, a transport unit with a long tradition.
The aircraft depicted on this print is A41-206, the first of eight C-17A delivered to the RAAF.
It was one of two C-17s adorned with the AF100 markings, in celebration of the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the RAAF.
